Description

Chitwan, situated in southern Nepal, is renowned for its National Park, a biodiverse haven for various animals and birds, some facing endangerment. Nestled in the lowlands known as the Terai, Chitwan, meaning the “heart of the jungle,” stands as one of Asia’s premier wildlife reserves. It serves as the habitat for the famed Bengal Tiger and the endangered one-horned Rhino. Chitwan provides a unique opportunity to witness these remarkable creatures while enjoying elephant-back rides. Exploring the local Tharu village adds a cultural dimension to the experience.

Established in 1973, the Chitwan National Park spans an extensive 932 sq. km. The reserve hosts a rich diversity, with over 43 mammal species, 450 bird species, and 45 amphibian and reptile species. Among the inhabitants are Chital, Sambar, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, wild elephants, four-horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, Gangetic dolphin, monitor lizard, python, sloth deer, common leopard, ratel, palm civet, wild dog, Langur, and rhesus monkeys. Notably, the park is home to endangered species such as the one-horned rhinoceros, Tiger, and the Gharial. The exploration of Chitwan offers a comprehensive wildlife and cultural encounter.

 

Trip Itinerary Detail

following a bus transfer from either Kathmandu or Pokhara, staff will meet you at either Chitrasari or Tadi and accompany you to the resort where light refreshment awaits! A full briefing will be given to outline both the facilities and program for the duration of your trip, then your room will be allocated to you.

Day 1

13.00: Lunch

15.00: Elephant Safari ( Jeep Safari) as we no longer offer elephant safari because of an animal right going in the world – An excellent opportunity to see four different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, boar, monkey, leopard, sloth bear and the Royal Bengal tiger (If you are lucky). You will also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Royal Chitwan National Park their home.

19.00: Tharu cultural dance presentation (which you will also participate in) by the local villagers or slide show presentation on almost everything under the Chitwan.

Day 02 06.00: Wake up call.06.30:

Breakfast.07.00:

Village tour to a nearby ethnic Tharu village where you will learn more about life and lifestyle.09.30: Departure for onward journey.
