Bhutan Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Paro (2235 m)

Today you will arrive at Paro airport where you will meet your tour guide or tour leader who will lead you to your hotel at Thimpu. After Lunch, today you will discover the Paro area by visiting Temples, local sightseeing, visit Changangkha Lhakhang.

Day 2: Thimphu (2,334 m)

Today you will discover deeper into Thimphu and their culture also a visit to the National Library, the Institute for Zorig Chusum (painting school), the National Memorial Chorten, the Folk Heritage and National Textile museums and explore the Trashi Chhoe Dzong. Thimphu is a bustling town on the banks of the Thimphu Chhu and set gloriously in the hills of the Thimphu valley. On fine weather, you will see the eastern Himalayan ranges including the highest mountain in Bhutan Mt.Gangar Punsum 7520 meters. The drive from the pass is all the way downhill dropping to the lower and warmer valleys of lobesa.

Day 3: Punakha (1,242 m)

Punakha is a town in the Himalayas of Bhutan and is known for the Punakha Dzong, a 17th-century fortress at the juncture of the Pho and Mo Chhu rivers. Punakha is rich in art and architecture and can be reached via the famous Dochula pass. You will enjoy the spectacular mountain views, then you will walk to the temple of the Divine Madman-Chimi Lhakhang. The walk takes you through the farmlands and past the farmhouses to a hill with commanding views of the river valley below. A stop by a farmhouse gives you an introduction to the typical farm life in Bhutan.

Day 4: Paro (2235 m)

Today we will drive back to Paro and visit Simtokha Dzong en route. When arrival explore Ta Dzong, and an ancient watchtower then walks down a hillside trail to Rinpung Dzong, the home of the Paro.

Day 5: Depart Paro

Today after breakfast you will check out and transfer to Paro Airport where all your Bhutan arrangements end.
