Lukla Flights Operation from Ramechhap

Lukla flights are operating from Ramechhap airport affecting April 1 till June 30, 2019, as Tribhuvan airport is closing 10 hours daily for its runway maintenance. The maintenance will continue every day from 10 PM to 8 AM in the morning. The domestic and International flights are an aspect to be the delay for its rehabilitation project. Mostly the Lukla Airport (Lukla Tenzing Hilari airport) will be on high effect as it is only the option to fly to Lukla for Everest Trekking in Nepal from Kathmandu. This will make an issue for those who are keen for Everest Trekking in Nepal in the peak season time. 

But few airlines such as Summit AirSita Air and Tara Air has announced for its fly to Lukla from Ramechhap Airport. Rammechhap airport is situated on the bank of Tamakoshi River at Manthali at an elevation of 493 m. /1617 ft. above mean sea level. One can reach Rammechhap by private vehicle, helicopter or public buses every day which is around 153 km away from Kathmandu and will take around 5 hours to reach by a drive.

The airport has Bituminous Paved (Asphalt Concrete) runway with its dimension of 520 x 20 meters aligned to 030 degrees and 210 degrees.

If you would want to join Everest Trekking in Nepal, you will have to drive to Rammechhap then fly to Lukla and start your trekking in the Himalayas of Everest.
